Friends of Frampton Farm provides specialist, practical education for children and young people who may benefit from learning in a smaller, outdoor and non-traditional environment.
We are an approved external tuition provider working with Kent County Council and Medway, and placements may be commissioned by Local Authorities, schools and other education services.
Having an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) does not automatically mean that a placement at Friends of Frampton Farm will be funded.
Funding must be considered and agreed by the relevant Local Authority as part of the young person's educational provision.
This may include situations where Friends of Frampton Farm forms part of an agreed Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) package or another Local Authority-commissioned arrangement.
It is important to understand that Friends of Frampton Farm is a part-time education provider and is not a school.
Learners typically attend for approximately 2–12 hours per week, depending on their programme and individual package.
Our provision would therefore usually form one part of a learner's overall education package, rather than providing their entire education.
Depending on their circumstances, learners may also receive education through:
Their school or specialist setting
Local Authority tuition
Other commissioned education providers
College or further education
Other elements of an agreed EOTAS package
The Local Authority or responsible education provider remains responsible for ensuring that an appropriate overall education package is in place.
Depending on the learner's age, needs and agreed programme, provision at Friends of Frampton Farm may include:

Horticulture
Land-based learning
Practical construction skills
City & Guilds qualifications
AQA Unit Award Scheme programmes
Outdoor and practical learning
Individualised learning programmes
Small-group or 1:1 provision
Programmes are agreed according to the learner's needs, suitability, availability and the requirements of the commissioning organisation.
If you are hoping for your child's placement to be funded by the Local Authority, we recommend discussing Friends of Frampton Farm with your EHCP caseworker, SEN officer, school or other relevant Local Authority professional before arranging an admissions visit.
They will be able to advise whether a placement with us is something that could potentially be considered as part of the learner's package.
Once there is an indication that funding may be considered, we are very happy to arrange a visit so that the learner and their family can see the farm, meet us and discuss whether the provision may be suitable.
A visit does not constitute an offer of a place or confirmation of Local Authority funding.
If Local Authority funding is being considered:
1. Speak to your child's school, EHCP caseworker/SEN officer or relevant Local Authority professional.
2. Ask whether Friends of Frampton Farm could be considered as part of the learner's education package.
3. The relevant professional can contact us to discuss the proposed placement.
4. Where appropriate, we can then arrange a visit for the learner and family.
5. A placement can begin once suitability, availability and funding/commissioning arrangements have been confirmed.
