The Level 1 Land-Based Studies Award (Land-Based Practical Skills) provides learners with the opportunity to develop practical, hands-on skills that are essential within the land-based sector. Working in a real farm environment, learners gain experience in tasks such as constructing and maintaining fencing, creating and repairing pathways, using tools and equipment safely, and carrying out a range of practical land management activities.

Alongside developing technical skills, learners build confidence, independence, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The course is designed to prepare learners for further education, volunteering opportunities, or employment within the land-based industries.

This qualification is a shorter programme with fewer units than the Level 1 Land-Based Studies Certificate, making it an ideal option for learners who wish to gain a recognised qualification while focusing on key practical skills.
